The Lodge
Construction began in 1998, and the trees cleared from the site became the lodge's exterior siding, posts, and beams. The lodge opened in November 1999. Innkeeper Randy Claybrook, who bought Bent Creek in November 2019 and brings over 30 years of customer service to the job, runs it as a home first: shoes off, coffee on, and a team that knows every trail and dinner table in the area.
"Come in. Take your shoes off and make yourself feel at home."
Inside, the open main floor holds the kitchen, dining room, living room, a gift shop corner, and a pool table. More than fifty photographs of local trails and waterfalls by local artist Susan Stanton hang in the public spaces, and there is a second living room downstairs for quiet evenings.

Rooms
The ten guest rooms sit on three levels, and every one has a private bath, individual heating and air conditioning, and a full breakfast included. Beds are made with upgraded mattresses and soft Comphy Company linens. Rates range from $175 to $350 per night depending on the time of year, day of the week, and room amenities (official site rates, as of Oct 2026); current rates for your dates are on the booking page.

Breakfast & Treats
Coffee is on by 7:00 am, and breakfast is served from 8:30 to 9:00, indoors or out on the covered porch. Every morning starts with coffee and teas, homemade granola and yogurt, seasonal fruit, and juice. Then comes the hot entree of the day: it might be an egg frittata filled with veggies and cheese, spinach cakes with tomato gravy, or whole wheat waffles, always cooked to order.
"Stay as long as you like and never have the same breakfast twice."
That is the lodge's pledge. Special diets are no problem, with a tasty alternative for any diet from vegan to gluten free, and an early breakfast can be arranged if you have morning plans. In the afternoon, treats wait on the kitchen bar: Reverse Chocolate Chip Cookies, Coconut Macaroons, Cranberry Pecan Bars, and Best-ever Brownies, with beverages in the guest refrigerators and a wide selection of hot teas.

Local Guide
Bent Creek Lodge sits in a forested triangle less than a mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance and three miles from I-26. You get the quiet of the woods and the whole of Asheville within a short drive.
From the back deck
Hike secluded trails right out your room door. A winding trail drops from the back decks past native perennials to the creek and the fire circle, then links the 160-acre Riverwind community, the Mountains-to-Sea Trail, and the Arboretum.
About 3 minutes
Cultivated gardens and woodland trails less than a mile from the lodge. Go early for quiet paths, and combine it with a Parkway drive starting at the same exit.
Under a mile to the entrance
Take the Highway 191 exit at milepost 393.6 and you are on the ridge within minutes. Overlooks, picnic spots, and trailheads run in both directions, and fall color season fills up fast.
15-minute drive
America's largest home is 10 miles from the lodge. Give the house and gardens the better part of a day, book tickets ahead for fall and holiday dates, and stop in Biltmore Village on the way back.
Half a mile
Launch a canoe within half a mile of the lodge and float past the Biltmore Estate, or spend a slow summer afternoon tubing. The lodge team can point you to the put-ins.
15-minute drive
Independent restaurants, breweries, galleries, and shops, with few chain stores in sight. Ask Randy and the team to help plan each day: they know the area well, from waterfall hikes to the dinner tables worth booking.
Practical notes: the lodge has a two night minimum on weekends and holidays, so fall weekends go early. Parkway weather can turn foggy at elevation even when Arden is clear, so start scenic drives in the morning. To reach us: I-26 exit 33, Highway 191 south for 3 miles, then right onto Parkway Crescent at the rock sign.
Next Door
Bringing family or a group? The lodge manages the Luhn House, a free-standing vacation rental about 100 yards up the road on a 10 acre wooded lot with its own small waterfall. It sleeps up to 10, at $400 to $700 per night (official site rates, as of Oct 2026).
Three bedrooms plus a bonus children's room with four bunk beds, and two and a half baths. The main level has a fully equipped kitchen with a mahogany hand carved bar, a great room with a massive stone fireplace, and a dining area. Outside: a four person hot tub on the main deck, a Weber gas grill, and room to spread out. Children of all ages are welcome, there is a two night minimum, and lodge breakfast can be added for $20 per person with a day's notice.
